Commission on Data-Driven Management of Obesity

Obesity and its related diseases now rival traditional causes of preventable death worldwide. Yet obesity is not a single condition. It is biologically diverse, shaped by genetics, environment, behaviour and social context. As a result, prevention and treatment strategies that work for one individual or population may not work for others.

The Nature Medicine Commission on Data-Driven Management of Obesity brings together leading international experts to address this challenge. The Commission aims to develop next-generation evidence-based tools that help health professionals deliver more personalised, effective and equitable obesity prevention and care.

Through a global collaboration, the Commission will evaluate current evidence, identify knowledge gaps, and conduct new data analyses. The Commission will also seek to develop clinical decision-support systems to improve obesity prevention and treatment worldwide.
